Painting on the glass will add charges. If someone wants a small window made for their house or church I will make them or put them in touch with someone who can. But make it a point that Blenko does not make windows as a business,(we can't compete with our customers) If I make a window it is me not Blenko. The Glass cost is 12.50 each for the dalles, the tools cost about 150.00, the epoxy is 25 dollars per gallon plus shipping. You need to puchase one inch insulation or cut board strips in one inch strips to frame up your panel. You need granules for texture and a releasing agent it is .50 cents per pound. Glasscutter is about 20. As you can see it is not a cheap process. If you have anymore questions please ask.
"Heart of Glasshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04642826515185943558noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34762127.post-62121446900330283102008-12-04T08:19:00.000-05:002008-12-04T08:19:00.000-05:00Don Lemleywas kind enough to provide me with the f...Don Lemley
was kind enough to provide me with the following info and an offer to answer your questions - so folks if you re read old post - now is the time to ask questions.
Looks as if this is an expensive hobby - but - the results are totally awesome-
and much less expensive than hiring a professional although if you want to hire a professional...taking a class is still a good idea so you can speak the language of the artist you hire.
The following is from Don Lemley the Stain Glass Expert at Blenko Glass.
Hillary,
Windows can cost a person from 75 dollars a square foot to 300 to 400 dollars depending on the detail of the windows, and the framing.
