New collector Sam Tyree frequently writes to ask if I can post photos of the Variations - a limited edition made by Wayne Husted.
I don't own this set. Reader Beth was kind enough to send this photo. The variation collection was a group of 12 bottles - sold in series of 3 - one could buy the entire collection or any three.
It was by subscription only. An authentic Variations bottle would have the signatures of Husted and Blenko.
Should anyone have this collection or photos of the collection they are willing to share, please email theblenkoproject@aol.com.
We believe less than 20 people purchased the entire Variations series.

ReplyDeleteDo you know Steve Bare? I heard he has a the entire collection - we saw Husted this summer and he said there were several full collections.
Also he told us Dave Osburn has molds and is making Varations.

and you own the face of Husted child vase which is a Variations #8 I believe.
This is not a difficult to find collection.
I bought only the 4 I liked not a series.
I do have the post card with all the vases I'll scan and send to you.

ReplyDeleteMy thought is Blenko doesn't have the money to pay Husted
and may not have the money to pay Bayliss otherwise the 2011 new designs would be just this New not reissued designs.
Husted could have helped but I fear its much too late for this.
Also does anyone know that he has an interest in designing glass for Blenko or anyone?
