Blenko Glass - classic design by Winslow Anderson and a one of a kind piece created by Wayne Husted for my parents 25th wedding anniversary ( 1997) . These two items sit above a fireplace in my parents Charleston home.
Questions? Who is the artist? Magnificent work of art. Is it a collage? Question #2 I read on line at 411 that Kathryn Davis makes 75,000K as HR at Blenko Glass. I recall hearing you say no glass worker made $50K. Why would a HR person make so much more? Question #3 When is the Holiday Sale Will the special items be available on line? Will you publish photos? The blue decanter was a Winslow Anderson piece, the first designed specifically for the Blenko Collectors Society in 2003. It was meant to be a giant sized version of his iconic 920 decanter. If I remember correctly, he wasn't completely sold on the final product, as it didn't have the grace of the original design. The other piece, Hillary stated was a one of a kind Wayne Husted design, done for her parents, so it would not be in the production line, or likely available for purchase anywhere. The collectors society piece can occasionally be found for sale on eBay, and will be sand blasted with the 2003 date, and like the WV birthday pieces, etched with a number assigned to the original purchaser. Mine is 0003 - I was the secretary of the society at the time.
Della My best guess is Blenko will be a memory by the time for 2012 B Day Vase. Holiday Sale? Last sale was a warehouse sale other than this the prices are outrageous. Special items? I don't think they have responded yet to Hilary's first set of questions so good luck to you in finding this info. Howard
