Arlon Bayliss was born and educated in Britain and has been working in the USA since 1990. Natural forms and the inherent qualities of hot and cold glass inspire his studio work and his design work for glass factories. His architectural projects explore light, space and movement. They result in installations that engage the viewer and activate space.
Arlon Bayliss a professor of glass, designs part time for Blenko Glass.

Thank you Hillary.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion Bayliss is the reason Blenko is surviving.
More Bayliss please.
Blenko needs a designer, a l/2 time if not full time designer.
Functioning without a designer is insane. Bayliss is talented and seems to understand the limitations of factory glass.
Excellent post. Bayliss like Myers will be thought of in future as classic and perhaps too good for the factory. Like Myers Bayliss is interested in teaching the craft of glassmaking and design.
Now where is the 2012 and 2013 catalog?

ReplyDeleteWe agree with your very long observation.
Blenko does what they can afford to do.
Bayliss is a definite asset.
