Hank Miller here - Last week friends went to visit Blenko, I was told very little is available from the gift shop. They ask about catalogs and were told Blenko no longer did catalogs. Is this true? Can you suggest a time when we might visit and do some serious shopping? Its a 7 hour trip and I don't want to return with an empty truck. Suggestions? H. Miller
The gift shop is just this - a gift shop filled with 2nds and misshaped items. If you find something great - rejoice! Otherwise know it is not the top of line shopping. My experience has been better than average, and often the shelves are filled with glass. Phone to ask the office if its a good time to shop. This is a very small factory no more than 20 workers and an office staff of 10 or so. The people who work for Blenko know the stock and what s available. Phone before you go.
The factory in shut down or minimally staffed for the months of January, February and March each year. Check out Blenko calendar at Blenko.com Events schedule. You can see that most of the time there are no demonstrations because they are not making glass. Mid March is the warehouse sale anld theml in April new production begins again. The visitors center is not usually heavily stocked for the first three months of the year. So, call or take your chances.
