Blenko Photo from Readers

Hillary,
Thank you for all of your time and effort you put forth on your blog. Attached please find a photo of a Blenko vase (7640 M) 15" in ruby, otherwise known to Blenko collectors as an overlay vase. We purchased it in an antique mall in Marietta Ohio, and yes, on our way to the Blenko factory in March, 2005.
Showing this vase to several seasoned collectors that we know, no one had ever seen this vase in ruby.
In researching, this vase was a part of the Don Shepherd designer's group however, was only produced in turquoise. We are curious with your vast readership, if anyone else has seen or owns this vase in the color ruby?
Thank you,
Brien and Diana Dickson

Hilary fix blogger or your computer.
Ask someone to buy one for you? Or the newspaper or Blenko to let you borrow a good laptop.

  2. Thank you to the Huntington Herald Media Newspaper for hosting this blog.
Each Sunday morning, I enjoy my coffee and danish, while browsing the Blenko photos and stories.
Then I phone my hometown buddies from West Virginia to say hello and catch up. Its easy to forget the things that make West Virginia so special, Blenko blog is a gentle reminder for me of quiet lazy days in the holler where my only worries were about buying Guess jeans, and saving money for proper loafers.

  3. I think it is Blenko, it has the Blenko stamp/sticker on it. Nice, I like, looks like a piece of art from the 50's/60's era. Real Nice.Thought I would let everyone on the blog know that parts of Cabin Creek are flooding today. Water up over the hard road here in Ronda. Funny I knew this morning that this was gonna happen before it did. Some have been told to evacuate. Not us so far. Lovely rain and I did hear it from one of those news channels that runs the blenko Ad, last year that we would have more rain. Makes know difference the year or shape of computor sometimes it is you connection, not your computor.I like the cable hook up and Internet Explorer, Yahoo and Suddenlink/? question them sometimes. That is a nice piece of glass, is it new or like I guessed ? And of course orange and clear glass. Those oranges still remind me of a clear, blue sky autum day, when the wind is blowing just enough to watch a bright orange leave fall from a tree to the ground. I also got to look at my first Deer with velet still on his horns. Lovely sight. They also are a pretty orangish lookin brown this time of year. They also know it is not hunting season, now that is funny when you happen upon a deer and they just decide to lay down right there in front of you, still lovely. My kids use to call me Mother Nature because of my love for the outdoors. Today I wish we still had the fishing boat. Wonder if anyone could make a glass piece the colors of a rattlesnake? Noe laugh for Rog kill a big 8 rattler this spring while Mureil/? mushroom hunting, with afew big rocks. The skin is in a jar under my kitchen skin, now everyone laugh.Thats a good idea people should commit on what the colors of glass and shape make them think of and why they have or want a certain piece of Blenko. Collecting glass has to be more than liking glass unless it was given or passed down by someone to already have its own story. You know, the history behind the piece of glass, sometimes adds to the price. Well I have wrote a book today. I am just glad to be able to check the blog, and make a good commit, plus we are saving money to buy The Blenko that we collect. God Bless everyone, Roxie

  5. One more thing, will someone else suggest to Hilary an update on her life would be past due and a welcome addition to the routine post.
What does a GSP resident do at work, play and did she find a perfect house or apartment?
Did she take the dog? Her blenko and glass collections?
    Little things.

The printed words are too small for tis and the fish.
Many readers may be older, we need large print.

  9. bgraham,

There was a lady at the visitor center on June 19/20th for the BD piece who also got the 2&3rd 2009 BD pieces and she was selling the 07 & 08 BD pieces. If you can go back to the posts on June 20th and 21st on this yr, you should be able to find her name and I am sure someone should be able to provide you her info as to how you can contact her. Maybe our Glasslady should be able to help you out or the visitor center for that matter.

I'll sell the vases I own for $850 each. Figure I have this much in them when you include travel. More if one determines the $per amount of time I stood.
