I'll Take One In Every Color! Blenko Water Bottle

The Blenko Water bottle is a classic design, Blog friend DIane of California sends another of her water bottle paper designs.
Amazing. These cards always leave me breathless -

Hillary:

It’s been asked if I’ve done other Blenko shapes for iris folding. I have not. I picked the water bottle because it is such a distinctive shape, and the body of the bottle is basically a square. This allowed me to use a standard template for a square opening. Any other shape I would have to create a specific layout pattern, and I just don’t have time. However, as a consolation prize, I send you my tangerine water bottle card.

Cheers,

Diane

  4. I haven't offered them to Blenko for sale, and I'm not sure it would get authorized if I did. The 384 design is theirs, I just used a silhouette of their design for my template. Each one takes about an hour to make, so they would be rather pricey to make for sales.

  5. On a brighter note, Diane these note cards are very special. One hour of time only if the artist is very talented and speedy.

  6. We received newspapers today and I read about the mining accident. Hilary my prayers are no member or your family was involved.
Mining technology has advanced and progressed so these accidents should not occur.
My prayers are with you and those suffering.

No member of my family works for a coal company. All West Virginians are in mourning for the loss of life, we are also hopeful the 4 missing will be found alive.
Your concern and prayers are welcome. Thank you.

Today I am sending a snail mail to ask Blenko s Katie Trippe if you can make these cards for us.
Also if Blenko will sell them and if not will they grant permission for use of the image.
By the way I research and their is no existing patent on this image or design.

  9. Bridgett, the mining technology has advanced but the coal company is not following regulatory safety procedures. I heard that the safe house for the possible survivors is 5miles inside the mines and the rescue people to start looking for one. All the best for the efforts which start today i believe.

  12. could you post again the address and phone number for the stamps diane uses?

  13. The stamps are different from the iris folding. The stamps are a direct-to-paper technique, while the iris folding is strips of paper laid out in a pattern based on a specific shaped template. Instructions and links were posted on another post.

Acme Rubber Stamp is in Dallas, Texas, and is run by two Blenko collectors. The website is: www.acmers.com

    Enjoy!
