Seeing Red -

Hillery
See this red print.  I am angry.  You need to respond quicker and with acqurate information. Three weeks ago I sent a set of photographs asking for help with identification.  I got a auto text
that's all.
I then sent them again and again.
When do you work?  Blenko should fire you!  You don't do a good job with the blog and you are slow.   Also I need the name and phone number of Suzan who bought glass from me two years ago I met her via the blog.
Gloria D.
Gloria,
Your note made see also see red.  See this photo - I'm a dentist.  I do work 40+ hours a week, I volunteer in my community and I have a  house , a dog, a full life,  I maintain the blenko project and the blog as a service.  I do not profit from either.    I do not sell glass.  We identify glass as a
service to the public - the http://blenkoproject.org//  will have all Blenko Catalogs in print you may go there and identify your glass.   I will not put you in contact with anyone.  . . I don't know the people who comment.  I will post vintage glass needing new homes  and forward contacts of those interested.
I am not an employee of Blenko. Blenko is a small family owned business,  they don't have funds to hire someone to identify glass owned by you.
Google to find other website that provide Glass ID - most charge a small fee , and the wait time is 6-8 weeks.    Thank you for purchasing Blenko.   I am sorry you feel your needs are not being met.

  1. Hillary, very good response to a less than intelligent post. How many times does it have to be repeated that you are not an employee of Blenko, that you are employed full time, and have a very fulfilling life, and that you do this as a service to promoting glass made in America. Obviously, this person must believe you are a personal servant. Steve

  2. Well if this isn't the most ignorant commentor of all time.
Hilary know there are hundreds of us who appreciate all you do.
I would never know the ins and outs of Blenko without the blog. I use the blenkoproject for my classroom, have you considered adding an educational element to the website? I would volunteer to assist.
    Anyway Thank you.

  5. Hillary:

You've said this so many times, it constantly astonishes me that people refuse to do a little basic research before they start blasting someone else. You do an amazing job with the blog, the Blenko Project, and everything else you do. Don't let people shouting at you in red ink get to you.

This post is just stupid enough to be a viral post. God awful people who think only of their own needs.
Don't let it get to you.

Get a life. Blenko isn't even great glass. One as arrogant as you should collect a more prestigous glass.
I'm certain that group would welcome someone of your class with open arms and provide you with a personal servant.

Don't be so quick to put this down.

  24. Ignorant.
The person who wrote this is ignorant.
    Blenko is also ignorant
if as you say they in no way support the blog or the blenko project.
and you are also perhaps ignorant to
provide this with no expectations from Blenko.

How many times will you say " I don't work for Blenko, the blog and The Blenko Project are volunteer community service?"
Perhaps the author of this note can't read or has the average 6th grade WVa reading level.

  26. Hey You
Has anyone told you its a unique and ideal combination to be bright, established professional, funny - this post was funny, to be void of ego, and to appreciate where you come from?
I have no interest in glass, but I did find this post in my twitter account then followed to the blog.
After 45 minutes I know much more than I ever want to know about Virginia Glass.
Thank you for the laugh, the mini education and for your sense of humor.

  34. Stephen I go to blenko less than 6 times a year
each time they treat me like a long lost friend.
    Try again Stephen.
Blenko is located in Milton FYI

I will say Blenko has had some bad VC staff. It is a difficult job,
one or two people who are sometimes overwhelmed with customers other times no customer for hours.
Last few years it seems to be a consistent staff, they are growing in knowledge and in customer appreciation. Blenko like all small mom and pop stores has favorites.
You go there to buy glass. Buy the glass and leave. Don't post negative comments about the ladies trying to do their jobs.
