Blenko Floor Vase- Don Shepard: FOR SALE

Hello,
I am attaching photos of a Don Shepard floor vase I found. I would be interested in more information about the vase. Also I am interested in selling the vase. It stands 21 1/2 inches tall and 8 inches in diameter across the bottom. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks or signs of wear.

Myers Textured Vases

Hi Hillary,

Another photo from the weekend is of two of my personal favorites.
A nice pair of Blenko 6731's in Plum and Honey. These were designed by Joel
Myers and have a wonderful swirl texture to them. The vases are a pointed
elliptical shape with cut and polished top rim.

Angels.

It's no secret - I admire and collect Blenko Angels.  My favorite Angels were made by retired Blenko Glass Foreman Les Womack.  For many years Les has returned to Blenko for 2-4 weeks to assist with making Angels and other Holiday Ornaments.   Each year I speak of how important an Angel ( a Blenko Angel) can be - the angel is a perfect gift in times of joy and sorrow.   Blog Reader Makita sent me the following info about Angels in other faiths.  Since she stated she was Bahai I am including what she sent about the role of Angel in the Bahai Faith.  hjh

For several years Blenko has created a series of 3 ornaments - small disc - we use them on packages attached to rib for family members.   The cost is under $45 - for the series of 3.

If you don't collect this series you'll want to purchase one or two sets - divide them and use as stocking stuffers - or wrapped individually for those times when you suddenly need a small gift.

Blenko Glass Company has made Snowmen for a decade or more.

We own a dozen,  a couple were made by Shorty Finley,  a couple were made when Dave Osburn was the Foreman, and the last two were made during Randy Rider's tenure.   The rumor is the snowman began as a gift from one blower to another.  The men made these items during down time - or on the midnight shift - often using end of day glass.  The snowman would eventually work his way to the Blenko Glass line.   Now snowmen, angels, trees, ornaments are all available year round at Blenko Glass.   If  the opportunity presents - have your snowmen signed by Mr. Blenko or one of the glass craftsmen.   Keeping a history of your glass items,  who made them, when you purchased , and where, will allow you to view the glass and  fondly remember the time or the occasion.
