Happy Father's Day.
This photo is of my father - John Reed Homburg. From the time I was 3 until I began college, he took me weekly to Blenko Glass for scrap sheet glass. We used these pieces to make glass projects.
My Dad is a 25 year member of the WVU Master Gardener's program.
He was a board member for the Blenko Collectors Society.
A Koi Club Board Member
He is an avid promotor of WV Arts and most especially WV Glass.
He worked as a lawyer and director of Legislative Services at the State Capitol for 44 years.
This week he donated his personal collection of Blenko Glass and the WV Birthday Vase (2000 - 2017) to the State of West Virginia. The vases will be a part of the WV Birthday Celebration at the Cultural Center this week. Unselfishly he did this so others might see the entire collection as a whole, and to promote the Blenko Glass Company.
He maintained a 35 year friendship with the Blenko Family.
