The West Virginia Division of Culture and History will celebrate a new exhibition, Blenko: West Virginia’s Gift to the World, with a gala opening on Thursday, March 8, in the Cultural Center, State Capitol Complex, Charleston. Visitors can meet the owner, Richard Blenko, hear a gallery talk, see a film about the company, purchase a limited edition vase, hear live music by Charleston jazz musician Steve Himes and register to win a one-of-a-kind studio art glass vase from 6-9:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Plan to attend. If you can't come on Thursday check the website for the exhibits hours and dates.
This is a wonderful opportunity to see vintage Blenko, a great film, meet and greet Blenko folks, learn about WVa Glass, . . .I know I plan to find the Commissioner and tell him how very proud we all are of our wonderful Cultural Center and the awesome staff behind this event.

Title
Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass
Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.
