Berdine's Five and Dime

On Tuesday some friends and I went on a mini-road trip to Cairo, WV to do some antiquing, and much to our surprise all the shops were closed for their winter hours (weekends only).

Luckily our trip was not in vain as we were still able to visit Berdine's Five and Dime in Harrisville (this is the oldest five and dime in America - it has been in operation since 1908!). With old fashioned tin and wooden toys, an antique confection counter - I picked up some chocolate covered cherries and orange slices - and many other treasures, Berdine's is a trip back in time worth taking.


Of course, I had to look for Blenko while I was there. See if you can spot the bit of Blenko glass in the photo below:
