Hi Hillary,
We are having quite the snow storm here in north Texas but on the bright side it has made it possible to shoot several groupings that I have been wanting to get into the blog. Hope you enjoy.

Bruce,
Your photos make me believe 'everything in Texas is truly bigger and better,' if a Texas storm brings these great photos. Here's wishing for more bad weather in Texas.

Bruce, Is there a story for the glass in this composition?
What is the cost of this trio?
what is the cost of this trio?
Awesome photos.
Thanks Bruce & Glassdoc
Observe the stopper and bottle, they look appropriate, the stopper appears to fit tightly does it Bruce?
I am hearing often the vintage pieces fit together very snuggly.
I'm told its one dead give away for spotting vintage vs reproduction.
Your thoughts?
Susan,
The stoppers do fit snugly in their decanters. It is , in my experience , true that the older pieces are tighter. There are other signs that pieces are made later that you will learn after you handle Blenko from the different time periods. Older pieces tend to be much lighter which adds to the dangers associated with higher breakage and thermal shock issues when cleaning. Add in the differences in designer and craftsmen at any particular time and you can see there are lots of variables in how a piece will turn out. One of the many reasons you can put two "identical" pieces side by side and love one and find the other unpleasing to your eye.
Candy,
As for the cost of this trio, if I were to state what I have invested in these three you would probably find it unbelievable. Two of these were mislists that I found for MUCH less than their actual value.
Heres hoping that the bad weather is over for all of us. I will find plenty of good shooting weather just around the corner.
Bruce
