Hi Doc,
The next photo is of my collection of Blenko 600D's in various colors. I am currently trying to finish the last bit of documentation that any collector should do in order to properly insure our collection from the chance of, heaven forbid, loss or damage. From left to right the colors are Tangerine, Sea Green, Turquoise, Ruby, Amethyst, and Emerald Green. All these were Ebay finds with the majority of them mislisted.

I can't even imagine how you store and clean all of this wonderful Blenko glass. And decanters, it is so easy for them to sweat inside.
Do you collect anything other than Blenko? And how is it that you became so passionate about Blenko? There were hundreds of glass factories in WV.

FOR ME IT WAS AN ACCIDENT I HAD THREE PIECES GOOGLED BLENKO
AND FOUND DOCGLASS WHO CONVINCED ME I SHOULD BECOME A COLLECTOR
SINCE THEN MY PARTNER AND I HAVE HUNDREDS OF PIECES AND WE HAVE BOUGHT AND SOLD THOUSANDS OF PIECES OF BLENKO.

ITS EASY TO FIND, STILL FAIRLY REASONABLE IN COST, THEY REMAIN IN BUSINESS SO SUPPLY IS GOOD AND THEN GLASSDOC CAME INTO MY VIRTUAL LIFE.
NOW I HAVE FRIENDS IN 15 STATES WHO ALSO COLLECT AND ITS MUST LESS EXPENSIVE THAT GOING TO THE BAR ON SATURDAY NIGHT.

Bruce: When you do ebay searches, what other listings do you look under? Crackle glass, art glass, etc. I bet you give your mailman nice Christmas bonuses. Our boxed of glass end of broken half the time.

A couple of quick answers to your various questions. As for how I came to collect Blenko you can go to the Blenko Project webpage and read my original submission to Hillary about watching the PBS 'Hearts of Glass" special and where it took us from there. I am fortunate that Kayla has as much interest in continuing the collection and the firm grip it takes to keep the collection dusted and cleaned. I assist whenever I pick pieces for various group photos by doing additional cleaning. It is so dry here in Texas there is no sweating inside the decanters which I prefer in my collection. I made a deal with Debbie that I would only collect Blenko but I have to admit that several other pieces have found their way into the collection as well. I cannot pass up a bargain when I see it but I do try to control myself. I have a wide array of search subjects that I use for Ebay but just try various phrases until you feel you are seeing a wide enough search pattern to be effective. I will try to give more hints later but I do like having a little advantage. As for the mail I have only had four pieces make it to me broken.This is out of in excess of over five hundred deliveries. All these had been packed by folks who had no idea how to pack glass or the true value of what they were handling. I have made it a practice that if the piece is extra special I send packing instructions to suggest how they can get the piece to me unbroken. Yes, I do remember my postman and postwoman at Christmas with a little something special. It is something we folks do in the country anyway but I let them know how much I appreciate their care in handling the packages that arrive frequently. I sometimes even make a point of opening the packages so they can enjoy seeing the new arrivals. I have not made them into a collector yet but they do enjoy seeing the collection grow.
