I know its much too soon for the purist - to think about Holiday Gift giving.
At my home, we shop for Christmas all year long, we put the gifts in the hall closet and wait until 12/14 to start wrapping.

We own the older version - and believe me there is very little if any difference other than color selection.

the new reproductions
are a far cry from the original.
Molds get old
and workers lack quality.
Be honest.
I also shop all year long
for Christmas.
My reason is financial.
I spend $100 each month on gifts
so I do not have debt for the holiday gifts.
