Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

It would be helpful if these photos were placed on the benkoproject for color identification.
Just a suggestion.

Hello,
Thanks for the suggestion, its on the list of things to do. I have been busy, so its getting delayed. I do research full time, and work on Blenko project website in between that, so am not as quick.
I also have to upload photos of various collections. Will get to it once my schedule is less hectic.
Thanks
V

For all of the disrespectful individals commenting on this blog, I respectfully suggest that you 1. take some of your own photos and send them in if you don't like the photos that are shown 2. start your own blog if you don't like this one, 3. keep you negative comments to yourself or 4. Don't read the blog anymore. The purpose of this blog as I understand it is to promote Blenko and other hand made products and share information. Hillary and V do this in their free time without any compensation. Enough already with negativity.

Lorin - I so agree with your comment. This negative person just needs to go away.

I would also like to add more to Lorin's comment. I believe that most who follow this blog want to learn about Blenko glass and other forms of art glass. We enjoy the photographs and appreciate that Hillary and V to this to share their love of this art form. The person who continues to make these comments adds nothing to the purpose of the blog. While I do not believe in censorship, I feel that these negative and without purpose comments should not be posted.

Are there variations of Mulberry? Items pictured above seem much lighter than the Mulberry piece you posted here:

http://herald-dispatchblogs04.blogspot.com/2008/09/owl.html

I have two water bottles which I believe to be Mulberry. I cannot not make a positive ID due difference in shades of Mulberry posted here and on various other Blenko sites.
My pitchers do not have the Blenko sandblasted logo, but it is to my understanding that Blenko did not begin marking items with the sandblasted logo until the Spring of 1958.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much for creating this blog, it is a great read and very informative.
