Blenko Find #992
We found this piece some time ago, but finally put it up on display. We got it for a very good price. We spoke to Mr. Blenko (Bill Jr.) and he told us many of these were shipped to Texas (for obvious reasons) but this is the first one we ever encountered in the "wild" We saw one at the Huntington Museum and have seen one or two damaged ones for sale on eBay, but they seem fairly scarce. While it is a wall pocket and winner of a Good Design Award as a wall pocket, I would never hang it as a wall pocket. I can just imagine a stress crack or break or even worse.

Tim I own three of the shorter one - on my back porch with a vine growing from the pouch, the other two are in bathrooms. All hanging and all have survived since early 2000.

This is the original early 50s steer head, not the current reproduction. The color is chartreuse, which was a Winslow Anderson color. The horn length is 28" across (over 2 feet!) the current repro has considerably shorter horns.
These are very rare indeed.
We saw one in Texas in 2007, it was owned by a friend of my son.
Both are physicians.

awesome any chance they will repeat this one? I would drive up to WV for this.
