Patrick Dale Chihuly is probably the most well known glass artist in America. In Southern West Virginia we're most fortunate to have a wonderful Chihuly sculpture on permanent display at the Huntington Museum of Art Click here: Huntington Museum of Art, Huntington, WV .
In Pittsburgh at the Phipps ... Phipps Conservatory & Botanical Gardens. 1 Schenley Park Pittsburgh, PA 15213 Click here: Phipps until November 11 a very costly exhibit is on display. It took months to plan and establish this exhibit - its in and around water, it is the most beautiful, overwhelming sight.
Pittsburgh is a short 2 - 3 hour drive. There are a number of great restaurants. It could be a very long day trip, or a great over night visit. We did priceline.com for a great rate at the Wyndham Hotel ($89 for 3people) the hotel shuttle drove us to and from downtown many times ( a free service) - so we avoided the parking tickets, and the city traffic.
This exhibit is one you will want to see, and return with friends to see again, its just beyond words....even if you don't like glass...the plants...the sounds....great photo opportunities.

but during GAS we went it is
well worth the cost of admission- much like what Chihuly did in
San Francisco.

Chihuly is an Indian word bascially Hindi which also mean Glass Art ..
