Patty, I'm not sure when you heard me speak about the BLENKO OWLS but I do like them, and they are sought after, and expensive. I don't have one in my small collection. I should apologize for confusing you. Blenko makes a number of OWLS - the one you bought is a book end,think. I was speaking of the58390 Husted Owl. While I don't own one - I'm borrowing a photo from the Blenko Museum Website for you. Vintage Glass House currently has one in stock for sale the description and price follows: Owl vase designed by Wayne Husted in 1958, made for 1 year only, Signed, #5830S in Mulberry, 6.5in.H x 4.75in.D, $445. these 'designers' take a regular glass shape add some buttons and bows or a tail and call it an owl or a cat and triple the price.

I have been told that, actually, more men than women collect glass. So, men, too, buy the "darndest" things!!!!!!!
At one time, glass was the most collected category on e-bay. A lot of people out there LOVE glass. I agree, some of the designs are so simple. Perhaps their beauty is their simplicity.

From Damon at Glass House I discovered many professionals Docs, Lawyers, Accountants collect glass. So I wasn't surprised when we started getting a lot of emails from bankers, and docs, and lawyers.
I must admit, I like the emails from Moms and teachers, and students best. It seems the docs, and lawyers already know more than I do. But we ALL learn from them - so its good for the blog we all grow because they contribute.
