Hillary:
The last photo for tonight…Blenko in Los Angeles. Actually, my office is in Hollywood, but from my window, I can see the city skyline. It’s a great view at sunrise. Thought you might like to see both my “office glass” and my view.
Feel free to share with the bloggers,
Diane
Where does your Blenko live?
Title
Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass
Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

Great idea! Hillary you need to write more about this and make it something you do for March or April and ask all of us to photograph our glass at landmarks we may not be able to do what Diane or Jan or Phani or Bruce could do but we can take some photo of our Blenko near a landmark of our state.
I like this now Hillary you properly address this issue.
Mrs. Kane
Stonewall Jackson Jr. High
Fellow Bloggers and Glass Lady Admirers
The West Virginia Legislature is now in session.
I have written to the House and Senate Officials to start
the ball rolling in an effort to have our Glass Lady
honored this session prior to her graduation for her efforts to promote
West Virginia Glass the West Virginia Craftsmen and most especially
Blenko Glass.
She does this by maintaining a website www.blenkoproject.org and the
blog http://media.herald-dispatch.com/blog/blenko/ as well working to develop
an oral history of glassworkers and by speaking
all over the state about Blenko and West Virginia Glass and the history of
the Glass workers. All this while attending WVU Dental School full time.
Hillary has a long history honors and awards (google her) that you might want to
mention in your letter.
I was told we should send individual letters and I should encourage any
sponsoring group example: Blenko Collectors and Blenko Glass to also send a letter to
both houses. Email or snail is appropriate. Phone call are also accepted.
I would encourage you to write or phone at least once. If you are not a collector don't
let this stop you. You visit the blog. You come to learn about the State of WV.
Take the next step and help us get this support group together.
If you are a member of the Blenko Collectors Society please contact the appropriate
officers about a supporting letter. If you have contacts at Blenko Glass Corp. please contact those
people. My only contacts are the young ladies who sell me the glass.
Thank you and thanks to Dr. Bob for sending me the information. Erik Wells (D - Kanawha)

Great Info Bridgett and thanks for doing this for HJH.
Diane,
I hope I am not advising you or lecturing you but if you are using
1. Digital camera: you might want to use, a S(flash), a flash option which will take a picture with light on the background, which you did right now (with sun on the back-ground)
2. dslr: use manual option with shutter speed lower than 40 and fstop at 5.6 or lower, I am guessing you may be able to get more light in your picture
Just a thought....
Phani
You also do letters I am doing them today.

Great idea Bridgett and Doc B.
it looked better on the small viewerin the back of my camera. I've got a point and shoot digital, and was shooting through the window of my office. I plan to go down to the parking lot (one floor down) and use the ledge to hold the glass, but I didn't have time this week. Thanks for the tips! D
Bridget
I appreciate the thought. Legislators have many other more important things to deal with this semester. I don't need another award. HJH

Count me in Csampath377@gmail.com can you email me any info I might need or put me on a mailing list I can make calls or contact people. This should happen. I do not know any BCS members or Blenko Glass executives.
I do know my local delegates.
I pushed send too quickly.
Having everyone send notes especially those from out of state is excellent idea.
Kudos to you and Dr Bob.
In boxes growing old.
