MOUNTAIN RITA

Price is over 2,500 but worth it.
The listing also says Blenko Museum isn't a museum but a sellers closet? I've been to the Blenko Museum ( isn't that what upstairs at Blenko is called?). Correct me if I'm wrong. Also what is the Blenko Museum story? Is it a museum or as this post suggest a front for a seller?
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Upstairs of Blenko is called
Blenko Museum of Stain Glass.
Blenko doesn't use good control of their name or image. This from a patent lawyer?
The website says Blenko Museum is an online only museum and they having showings of glass frquently.
It was a storefront in Seattle prior to becoming an online Museum.
Regardless the photos and info are excellent and if the curator or others sell Blenko then more power to them.
Blenko should ask them to help with PR work and management. Having people with some knowledge of Blenko's history and a vision for the future would be for me and other collectors a welcome event.

This is a nice piece but not worth $2000 plus. These sale on eBay occasionally for under $500 (yes, signed and numbered) Although there are 50 signed and numbered, there are more than a hundred or so of these in existance (un-numbered but some are signed).

SAD SAD SAD

MY GIRL FRIEND PAID NEARLY 2K AND THE SELLER TOLD HER HE PAID $1,000 TO A MUSEUM FUND FOR HIS VASE.
IS THERE A BLENKO HISTORIAN WHO KEEPS TRACK OF SPECIAL ITEMS AND HOW MANY ARE SOLD AND SO FORTH?
WHO RECORDS THIS SO THE NEXT BUYER WILL KNOW?
WHAT ARE THE SPECIAL BLENKO ITEMS I SHOULD BE LOOKING FOR? NO LONGER TRUST MY SELF OR MY DC FRIENDS TO KNOW.
HELP ANYONE WHO READS.

This is a classic example of caveat emptor (let the buyer beware). Glass is worth what you are willing to spend. Personally, I wouldn't have this design as a gift, they give me the creeps, but that's just my taste. They may have originally sold for a higher price (50 signed and numbered were made for the grand opening of the Blenko Museum in Seattle), but the economy has put a dent in disposable income. I know I've become more particular in what I buy, and what I'm willing to pay. Look at the Blenko Archive http://www.blenkoarchive.org/ for the historical and notable pieces.

Regardless of the cost, or the famous designer, I would not allow this item into my home.

Blenko has made these on and off for years, just like they do all there special collector pieces. They dont care about the collectors, that is why I only buy the old stuff.

The question continues
what is the Blenko Museum?
Is there a land based Blenko Museum?
How does a website get a tax exempt status? It doesn't therefore there is a landbased Blenko Museum.
Simple answer for Mountain Rita.
