My new inlaws just hate Blenko. They do not understand our collecting or
obsession with the colors or the glass.
Suggestions? It makes me feel horrible. She says its a long forgotten glass that our local (Pittsburgh) Kaufman's carried briefly in the early 70s. No longer in vogue nor was it ever very popular.
I would prefer not to be rude.

Your Mother in law is correct. Blenko is a small, local manufacturer, it once was more popular.
What she doesn't understand is, Blenko is the only source IF one wants to buy Made In The USA glass and tablewares. No one does color better than Blenko. Again she is correct it was true in the 50 -70s but its still true today. Kaufman's ( Pittsburgh) sold Blenko in for more than a decade.
Perhaps not defending Blenko, just allowing the comments to drop.
It appears you are being defensive and allowing her to have you question the the quality of the item you and your husband are passionate about.

When I was child we did the Pittsburgh Pirates games.
My Dad and I went to the game. My Mom and her sister shopped Kaufman's of Pittsburgh. Frequently they came home with Blenko Glass.
