A Graphic Artist drawing of the Festival of Glass - the REAL McCoy will be available to photograph early next week - it will be so very beautiful, but BLENKO wanted to give you some idea of the shape, and size its 20 inches. Tim from Texas described it as a floor vase.
We'll post a large photo as soon as one become available. The GLASS will be available to purchase ON LINE the MONDAY AFTER the Festival of GLASS.
My understanding - based on conversations with Christy at Blenko and Katie is 150 (the first 150) will be sold first come basis - much like the BLENKO WV Birthday - you go early stand in line - get a number and purchase your vase with the card you obtain - one card per person only. The next 150 will be sold BY PHONE or EMAIL on MONDAY first come basis then the MOLD will be destroyed. IF THIS ISN'T correct - please someone - correct the statement.
The cost is $150 I think - but I'm not sure about this. I'll check and get back, it seems not enough now that I'm seeing the vase. hjh

I just check out www.blenkoglass.com
and everything you need to know is there. GO to this website.
The cost of the vase is $150 + app. sales tax. #1-150 available starting at 9am Sat, Aug 23. Remaining vases will be available to order online and by phone (877-425-3656) starting Monday, Aug 25. The mold will be struck when all 300 have been sold. The picture you see is actually a sample of the vase, but it has been enhanced on the computer to show the seabreeze color. As soon as we have a true sample, a picture will be sent.
Can you tell me how that 'seabreeze' is obtained?
Hilly
Sol and I predict that the Bayliss Team will become as well known as Husted for their Blenko designs.
We see some similarities in the inovative design ideas, and use of colors.
The color "seabreeze" originates from a very dark batch of a teal green/blue melt and then it is cased in crystal to give it the brilliant jewel tone finish.
'Cased in Crystal'!! what does the term mean?
That means that the first gather of the vase is the seabreeze color, then it is covered with crystal batch. Casing glass with crystal will lighten the darker color into the lighter version. Hence the term "cased" Other examples of cased colors in our line are...ocean blue, spring green. The originating colors on these are electric blue and clover
I'm scheduled for work, but I plan to phone for one. Thank you Christy for the number.
Lewis I will be there next year just so that I might get to know you and Sol and Margie and Bridget
and West Virginia Janet Ravi phani ram etc and Dr Bob

Thank You Christie!!
I have a favor to ask of everyone....I will start by saying that I live in Milton and have always LOVED Blenko Glass( i love the fact of collecting glass that is one of a kind...no two pieces are exactly alike)But i have been troubled recently by the fact that the company is not doing much(ie sale wise) they are laying off the blowers because of not having very many orders going out. So i beg anyone that reads this to please stop by the visters center a buy some pieces or order by phone or online so this truly unique company stays alive and please encourage anyone you know to do the same becuase if not the end of Blenko glass may just be right around the corner!!
