Thank you to the folks who sent photos - I apologize for publishing only a few - the Blog and my email was compromised on 6/21. Below you'll find photos of the parking lot which was filled with tents, and sleeping bags, more than 150 people arrived 18 to 60 hours early in an attempt to purchase this vase. Each year Blenko produces less than #150 of the limited edition vases made in honor of WVa 's Birthday.
This post contains photos of the Cindy S. From Minnesota ( possibly the farthest distance traveled), Jordan Toler, 16 years old, a Chapmanville All Star Athlete ( this was Jordan's first Blenko Glass experience - he'll be back!), JC Dillion of Charleston, WV ( JC is a frequent flyer at the Blenko Birthday Events). WV House of Delegates member Ron Stollings who drove from a Legislative Meeting in Wheeling to Blenko arriving just in time to get one of the last vases ( he arrived at 5:30pm).

To clarify: each year Blenko produces the number of birthday pieces that equate to the number of years WV has been a state. So this year -- 2013 -- it was 150 pieces because it's the 150th anniversary of statehood. Back when they started this -- 1981? 1982? -- there were far fewer produced. In 1983, 120 were produced. 1983 minus 1863 = 120
