A water bottle is a container that is used to hold water, liquids or other beverages for consumption. The use of a water bottle allows an individual to transport, and drink, a beverage from one place to another. Wikipedia
My parents insist on buying W.Va. Glass water bottles for our kids, each holiday they send the bottles. My questions are:
1) What do I do with the bottles? 2) Can they be used? 3) Do they have value? will value increase? 4) How do I stop this.
The shipping cost has to be high they weigh a pound or more each. Do you own the Blenko water bottle, if so how do you use it?

Mary Helen, I'm gonna assume your water bottles are Blenko. www.blenkoglass.com . The water bottle is the single longest running item in the Blenko Glass line ( Blenko Glass is nearly 100 years old). The water bottles are sturdy and made for use. I wouldn't suggest unsupervised play - as they are breakable. Water bottles as with all glass art have value, depending on when and where purchased your items cost between $30-$65 . If the value will increase is questionable. Some short run ( unusual colors or designs may be more desirable). The water bottles are very collectible. Hundreds of adults collect and use in their home decor. In answer to your last question I own 7 water bottles, one I use daily filled with flowers in a kitchen window, the others are in a box. I bring them out for use, depending on the season.

Below are photos of Blenko Water Bottle Collections sifted from the internet by Blenko Project Volunteer Audrey H.
May I also suggest you google Blenko water bottle, their are blogs devoted to the water bottle, face book pages devoted to the water bottle, and Audrey tells me there are thousands of Blenko Glass water bottle images on the internet. Perhaps involve the children in determining the color of each individual water bottle, prepare a label and then package for storing- perhaps allowing each child to have their own storage container.
Awesome! Collection of Blenko ( photo from Blenko Collection via internet - Audrey H.) |
