Dr. Hillary,
On one of our trips to Milton around 1990 , after seeing relatives stopping at Blenko and Charley Gibsons. We stop at Fred Balls shop. After looking at every thing and listening to one of Freds storys he showed us a cane that was signed and that we should have it . The signature did not mean much at the time but I looked it up a while back and I was suprised at the significance of the mans name in the handcraft glass. ALESSANDRO MORETTI worked at pilgrim and did dimenstrations at the 64 worlds fair. His cousin is Mario Sanden. they are Pilgrim glass.
Thanks Larry T.

Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass
Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

Is this cane Blenko?
Is the cane one that can be used?
Does anyone currently make these canes?
This photo is beautiful and I'm guessing Larry or his Dad made this cane. Is Larry's name moretti? No wait it was Thompson.
So who is Moretti?
Just checking in and seeing what is happening on the blog. Boy all the delete comments, also the negative. Without relizing it today I read a Bible verse that said. Some will have eyes and will not see. Some will have ears and will not here. I feel that the color array of Blenko glass is a good example of what the streets of heaven will look like, lined with gold. I know that sometimes we all get lost in the materail of this world when there is nothing here that is more important then who created the world. We all should be taking the time to enjoy the beauties that are here naturally along with the beauty that God's gift given to someone to make beauty. Also is it not GOD who is really the only one who can JUDGE. That is what is wrong with this world we keep leaving him out while being selfish to needing to be a dictator. For what is the materail when you think of death, nothing but something that will collect dust to turn to dust. It also upsets me for someone to need to put a price on what they own, for the entrance to the kingdom of heaven for the rich man is small like the eye of a needle. Tell me just what is wrong with cheap? I have candle stick holders that when made were sold at the five and dime for 19 cents that is depression glass not still worth alot only worth more because of the selfishness of this world. The dollar is only worth 18 cents right now. It is like what happened to penny candy it cost from a nickel to fifteen cents. All I can say is shame on some of you who need to take your own inventory before attacking others. Sorry Hillary, I know how upset this stuff makes you, me I would give it up your are not being respected or valued for your kindness nor your time. Roxie
