Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

Umm I have a Viking vase used for flowers that looks very similar to this one.
A 1979 catalog item.

Hillary:
re: help with having the blog listed in google and other search engines.
genius is what I like to call my bff. today I'll ask him to fix this issue.
If it can be done he'll do it.

Mountain Rita
Should Randy Rider leave
someone else will step up.
Keith Morris, Charles Chafin, Perry Bays, Powers kid. Just as when Osburn left the void was quickly filled.
Blenko is an organization no one person is essential.
As a group they create and suceed.

My latest Blenko rumor is they are interviewing for the postion of general manager - which I believe was the position Gene Weekley held.
If so, this is good news for the future of Blenko.
Having experienced people with management degrees or business degrees and factory experience is imperative to regrouping for the Chapter 11.
What do you hear Hillary?

Vintage?

Quite reasonable Betty
we heard the same rumor 2 weeks
ago.
We believe there is some truth, A certain Pittsburgh University job referral has a listing that could only be Blenko
how many glass factories are in need of management?

None of our business.
What management does or fails to do.
Glassdoc says this over and over.
Get off the rumor mill, focus on Blenko.

Perhaps asking Damon C from NYC to assist with marketing and management would be the best call in this time of peril.

they need to bring back some of the people katie got rid of for personal reasons. She got rid of some good glassmakers people who knew how to run that place.

re: quality of blenko
one needs only to look at the photos sent by Bruce S to see that blenko glass while factory made is glass art.

i can't tell if my comments are being accepted?

Hilary
I ask my brother to send his laptop to Blenko for you, let me know if / when you receive.
He replaced a 2009 laptop.
Perhaps this will make it easier for you to write and respond.

Re: google
spoke with my best friend who says it is listed with google
So perhaps it is?
Anyone else know about these things?

Rider is at Blenko full time.

Collectors will collect
Blenko will sell
It doesn't matter if Katie or Randy or anyone else is replaced.
Buying Blenko is important.
Having a collection of quality glass.
PS Bring back the beautiful light yellow color.
I see this only in older glass.

the blog still does not show up when i search for blenko on google.

COMMENTS DO NOT APPEAR BECAUSE HILLARY MODERATES THEM.

If you search for Blenko on google, the blog shows up as the last link on the second page. fyi.

Dear Blogger,
Since the heading of this blog "Blogs @ herald-dispatch.com: Heart of Glass" does not have blenko word & the URL http://herald-dispatchblogs04.blogspot.com/ also does not have blenko word & hence the blog does not appear at the first page of google search.

Google first searches the word in the URLs or in the headings & later it searches the word in the underlying contents & shows result in that order.

The blog does appear if you search only word "blenko" but it shows the blog on the second page of google search.

If you search heart of glass, you can find this blog on the first page.

Chitra & Hillary if you want the blog to be searched by word "blenko", you have to change the blog name to something like "blenko heart of glass" or something else which contains word blenko in blog name.

Thanks
Sourabh

If memory serves me correctly you are a LT in US Army.
My life is very full, we work full time at a clinic. we have a large patient load, we are deeply involved with our temple, spiritual and community groups. My personal life is also full.
While I can not speak to Sourbh's daily activites or life.
I believe each person has a right to devote their time to what ever brings them satisfaction and pleasure. The hour or so I spend weekly on glass brings me pleasure.
Your interest in the ' life' I have is not welcome.
