Hi Hillary,
This was purchased in the late 50’s most likely, gift for my mother. It is about 15” high and was sold as a “Blenko” vase. Is it? I just put something on your blog site but fear I do not know how to do this properly.
It is an amazing singular design of a triangular shape, a gorgeous blue-turquoise. I can find absolutely nothing on line anywhere like this so maybe am under the false impression that it is a Blenko.
Any help appreciated!!! And good luck with your studies and professional life as a doctor of dentistry!!
Sincerely,
Lucille K

LOOKS LIKE A FACTORY REJECT TO ME.

This appears to be item #5422 - look at the bottom left corner of the linked page: Blenko Archives
Hope that helps,
Diane
Ms Lucille,
This is a Husted design #5422 in what I believe to be Teal. The story I have heard connected with these pieces is that they used three car exhaust manifolds as the mold for this piece, hence the interesting pattern where the design puffs out in the voids of the mold. If you are interested in parting with this piece I would be interested in purchasing. I do happen to own one already that is in the Sea Green color. Great piece if you are a collector so I hope this increases your enjoyment and appreciation.

I see these selling for $800 in LA
I have this in a dark green with crystal base
Was told John Nickerson made it - if Bruce and Diane are correct
I own it
and Nickerson didn't make it
another Blenko story.
