Tangerine Myers Decanters

Blenko Glass. Blenko Tangerine Glass. Vintage Blenko Glass. Blenko. Blenko. JP Myers for Blenko.

Hi HIllary,
Let's just call this my updated Tangerine Myers decanter photo since all but one of these has been added to the collection over the years since I shot the other photo of a larger group of Tangerine decanters that is still posted on the Blenko Project "Collections" page. All of these are Myers designed pieces. They are from left to right Blenko #6617, Blenko #6711-S Thread wrapped decanter, Blenko #678 "Brain" decanter, Blenko #6523 Flask-shaped decanter, and Blenko #7019. Lots of variatiAdd Imageons in shapes and textures between the pieces yet they hold together as a wonderful group.
Hope you enjoy,
Bruce S

Tangerine seems to be in several finishes but I can relate to three that come to mind that are all considered Tangerine. The pieces pictured are what most collectors see Tangerine comprised of a red/orange fading to yellow or amber coloration. A second variation is a dark red stopper/neck/top fading to almost clear or pale amber color. The third that is also Tangerine is where the piece is a reddish orange being very vibrant in color but the whole piece is close to being a solid color without any variation. You can go back into the August blog pages to see just such a photo I took of several crackle pieces in Tangerine. I do have a small footed ruffle edge vase that is bright orange in color. I am not familiar with the technique that causes the variation or fade but hopefully someone more knowledgeable will take this chance to educate us both.

I dislike the new orange, do you think Blenko will return to a true orange?
Anyone with a direct connection to Katie Trippe?

re: Tangerine and the multiple forms of this color I've heard it has to do with the lack of a good chemist.

No Blenko does not care what colors you want
they make the colors they like.
