Can you name the Blenko Color?

Readers: Please help S determine the color of his water bottle. ( see photos)

Hi,
I wasn't sure how to post a question on the blog, so I am email you. I hope that is ok. I have been studying all the Blenko greens and I can't decide which color this water bottle is. One minute I think it is olive green, the next I think it is jade or grass or lime or jungle. It is not etched on the bottom, so, I ruled out jungle. It does seem to have a clear coat, which leads me to jade. Then again, is looks like olive green too. Please put me out of my misery! Thanks so so much.

I enlarged your photograph to see if it was cased in clear or Topaz or any other color and could see no sign of it. You should check it yourself as it can be hard to detect in a photograph sometimes. The easiest way is to hold the bottle in front of you andlook at the very botton. Think of a 1/4 inch of water in the bottom and you want to look Through the layer of water. The very bottom layer will be a different color if it is cased. Check blenkowaterbottles.wordpress.com and look at avocado on day 67 for an example of what to look for. Jade will have a layer of Turquoise blue on the bottom layer so if it does not have that, you can eliminate Jade. If there is no casing of any color then Olive Green is the best bet with Olive a close second. It appears to have a slight amber cast, especially in the first photo, which Grass or pine will not have. It is lighter than Jungle which you cannot eliminate just because the date is not etched. Some of them get missed with the etching. Hope this helps.

I wish I could help conclusively. Do you have vintage and new bottles - there is a definite weight difference between older bottles and more recent ones. I would have said the last photo looks like a clover that I bought in 2009, but the first one looks more olive. It is very hard to tell from photos.
