Blenko Glass Company has made Snowmen for a decade or more.

We own a dozen,  a couple were made by Shorty Finley,  a couple were made when Dave Osburn was the Foreman, and the last two were made during Randy Rider's tenure.   The rumor is the snowman began as a gift from one blower to another.  The men made these items during down time - or on the midnight shift - often using end of day glass.  The snowman would eventually work his way to the Blenko Glass line.   Now snowmen, angels, trees, ornaments are all available year round at Blenko Glass.   If  the opportunity presents - have your snowmen signed by Mr. Blenko or one of the glass craftsmen.   Keeping a history of your glass items,  who made them, when you purchased , and where, will allow you to view the glass and  fondly remember the time or the occasion.
