Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

A Rare Hare - Blenko Glass

This is a photo of a PINK RABBIT! If you follow the Blog - a while back, a reader 'wished' for a PINK RABBIT to gift her grandchild.

Blenko wasn't making Pink Rabbits - but the wonderful Rodney Wade, and Randy Rider were listening and a PINK RABBIT appeared - actually there were 3 Pink Rabbits.

Our reader bought this one for her grandchild and was kind enough to pass along a photo!

BLENKO GLASS Milton, West Virginia. I strongly recommend you visit the BLENKO GLASS Visitors Center (gift shop) everyday you will find one of a kind items - unusual items - not in the catalogue items - like this Pink Bunny! HJH

I wish to thank everyone for my pink hare. I cannot wait to give Lilly, my grandbaby her Hare. I hope to get to Blenko soon. There are afew items I wish to buy as Chirstmas presents and need to get started. Again I thank everyone for my wish of a pink hare. You have made me cry tears of happiness, and Lilly will be over joyed to show everyone her pink hare. Again I thank you for making me feel special. Thanks again from my heart.

Funny Bunny
was my first thought, what is the cost of such a creature?
Glass Art primative figurines are sought after in this part of the US.
Your craftsmen are doing 'neat' things. What other figures are available? These are done without mold correct?

WOW
So if I write that I would like to see some of the 60s glass reproduced it will happen?
Let me go on record saying if they remade the Williamsburg I'd buy it at most any price.
Hillary the older Blenko items were better crafted don't ya think?
More creative. Can they reproduce these?
You once said things stay 'in the line' so why not bring them back to the line?
Please answer.

I'm not sure whether anyone will read this. But I'm wondering whether anyone knows when the first Blenko rabbits were produced? And how have they changed through the years?

Thank you.
