Vintage Modern Glasshouse

Vintage Modern glasshouse Offering the largest single-dealer selection of vintage mid-20th Century glass on the internet since 2003, doing business since 1998.

Specializing in exceptional free-blown vintage glass exclusively from the modernist period (1920's - 1970's) our inventory includes many prime examples from America , Italy and Scandinavia . Our emphasis is on exotic and rare sculptural forms that exemplify the intersection of art, craft and design.

Our primary focus is the production of the Blenko Glass Company of West Virginia , circa 1947-74 whose work perfectly embodies the qualities of free-blown glass with an enormous range of the highest caliber of original and unusual designs. Known for hiring designers who later became leading names in the Studio Glass movement, Blenko was a great innovator and is deeply relevant to the history of glass and American culture.

Thank you for the link, too busy this week but I'll go there for Holiday gifts. Ebay has not been kind to me of late.

Annu is correct we need the link to all sellers of 'high quality'
vintage Blenko, if you will.
Trying to find older Blenko on Ebay is confusing, and vintage stores don't always know what they have.
This is helpful, more please. Only when you find the time.

Question about the 20th for those of us, not living or ever planning to visit West Virginia is this available on line?

You should refer to that decanter by the name by which it's most commonly known, the Sipper Stopper decanter.

The glass Blenko has produced in the last 25 years is inferior and virtually worthless. Any recent production Blenko will be worth less in 20 years than what you paid retail for it new. Mediocrity doesn't age or increase in value, only fine work and great design - 2 qualities Blenko has lacked for the past 30 years.

I'm always stunned at how people cant see the obvious difference between the innovative and beautiful design work of Anderson, Husted, Myers and Nich. and the trinket, souvenir baubbles for your grandma to but next to her framed #1 Grandma photo. It's night and day, but some people are too dense or blind to appreciate design and quality - and just think anything from Blenko must be valuable or will become valuable. Wrong, so very very wrong.

Get a life - Just because you sell vintage - doesn't make it more valuable - buying NYC glass ? well its WV glass that moved east.
