Title

Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

Blenko Stamps!

Diane from California was kind enough to forward info re: Blenko Stamp

Acme Rubber Stamps (http://www.acmerubberstamps.com/) is run by two rabid Blenko collectors. For the first convention, they created these Blenko stamps. They are very nicely etched, stamp out beautifully, and are among my favorites. In addition to making cards, I have been known to stamp on dominoes, and make necklaces or magnets out of them. hjh

Please do not put your home phone number on this or any other internet site, it just is not a safe thing to do.
I removed the number, but I am often 7 -10 late in reading comments. Please be careful, get a screen name for use on blogs, ask someone at your Senior Center for help.
The people who write comments, are not people I know, 99% of them I have never seen, nor will I ever see them, we are all people who enjoy Blenko and meet here to discuss Blenko.
Remember this when you enter a blog unless you know personally the people on the blog (ok).

Pardon, I Googled Acme Rubber Stamp and ended up at the link Rita mentioned.

The tiles are dominoes - plain white buy them in any toy store dominoes. If you are making a necklace, drill a hole in them (drill press) before you stamp. You stamp the image using StazOn ink (permanent, dye based, won't smear, available at any craft store). I use Diamond Glaze from Judikins (www.judikins.com) to give the domino a clear coat. Drip several drops of the glaze over the top of the domino, and float it across evenly with your finger. Let it dry, then add glass beads (SO wish I had Blenko beads) on a chain, and your favorite piece is now wearable art.

I've made dozens of these as gifts, and even sold them to folks who liked the one I was wearing. Sales are tricky, depending on the stamps you're using. Some companies, like Acme, are "angel" companies, where as long as the image is stamped by hand, you can sell whatever you make with their products. Others consider any use of their stamps for commercial purposes an infringement of copyright. So if you plan on it, check the stamp company's policy.
