Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

New Photos from Larry from TX

Hillary; Was playing with my new camera today. I thought you might like these Pics for the blog. I will send more color mixes as I take them. All of these pieces except the Big_Sky Jug, #390 vase, and the 4603 were found at the Gift shop or in the shipping department. Larry Texas
A big Thank You to Larry of Serenity Glass in Texas for these photos! What kind of camera?

Thanks Hillary and Rita; The camera is a NIKON D-80 with an 18 X 135 lens.
Shots were taken in the Auto mode with a combination of side natural lighting, ceiling mounted halogen spot and built in flash. Using multiple light sources seems to cut down on glare, I hope to soon have a photo box with indirect lighting. I was not aware that BLENKO was doing the mountains again. This is a vintage, 1982 Don Shepherd piece my wife fell in love with at the glass sale during convention. I can't sell this piece as I purchased it at collector price.

I am seeing some new names on the posts as of late. Wonderful. One of the nicest things we can do for Hillary and BLENKO is to forward the URL to all of our friends and tell them to check it out while all of Larry's fine photos are near the top of the page!!! I have a D-80, too, Larry. You will enjoy it!

Happy weekend. Let's all indulge by treating ourselves to a piece of hand-blown, WV glass and report back what we bought! Seriously!
