Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

It would be nice if once a week or so you did photos of all the VC shelves for us.
Perhaps on Mon or Fri on a regular schedule.
Think about it. We could do phone orders and so forth.

Blenko on the channel four news again today in Charleston's WSAZ. It makes one lazy when you hear the latest from Randy Rider and also shows the furnace and how hot. Wonderful. Show's another fellow also who is busy working. Randy is talking while working and the other fellow is just into what he is making. Randy is beleiving in a turn around. Must say I need one of those blue stoppers for the top of The Moon my Blenko lamp. Yes I remeber the days of Blood, Sweat and Tears. They nearly wore everyone out with their songs. I liked them, not my favorite. I got turned on to the Rolling Stones at 12 and The Yardbirds. The Beatles okay. I am waiting for Three Door Down to visit Charleston again. That would be a good group to see at the Clay Center. UH Sol? And while we are doing the culture thing, why does the clay center not freature someone from our great state on a monthly or weekly bases. There happens to be alot of great talent here in the Kanawha County area. Have open house where you could come and jam, our own talent show. I love the old timey way. As a small girl when my Momma was alive we would go visit people and before you knew it out come the guitar. I am suppose to be third or fourth cousin to Patsy Cline. Kat's Dad plays and travels on weekends with a bluegrass gospel group. His Dad also musicailly inclined. Love going to concerts and hearing people perform their talents. Almost like a well made piece of Blenko glass. I think of the JOY and pleasure it brings all who are able to stop and take in the beauty that is here, if only for a moment. I also love hearing and listening and seeing people who love what they are doing and not for the money. I am rambling again. I come from a family of talkers, not my fault. My Dad would talk to anyone, respect for one, real person for another, kind of like your Mom he was. Well I found out that I will be getting at least two Blenko cracked glass vases. Excited I am. Blenko and Memories. I need to go to Blenko is all I know. lov u all, God Bless, Roxie

Annonymous: Re Photos Of Whats In the Visitors Center Each Week.
I live 3 hours + from the Visistor Center location, this is impossible - unless you, another reader, or Blenko sends photos.

Roxie
Good to see your name. I miss you and I miss Huntington and the Huntington WSAZ news. My friend Lucy often tapes things and sends them to me. So perhaps I shall see this.
Randy Rider is one of my favorite also. He is the new "Jar Fly" "Shorty" and "Charlie" all in one.
Nice to see you Roxie, we need to take back the blog, I notice, Janis, also no longer writes, Mountain Rita scares me with her anger.
So I just read and remain silent.
About the turn around, I do hope he is correct but the back debt remains and Mr. Maier although obviously a fine gentleman will want to be paid, and he should be paid.
