Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

Your comments are indeed the best Annu. Wish there were more.

You need to not be anonymous.I use to send comments that way and found that it is much easier just to use my email address, that way the blog knows who you are. What is wrong with that? It is not the people on this blog who will hurt you. Love that watermelon and would love to see the pineapple. I still have dreams of just seeing one of those Pears they made awhile ago. Talked to Hillary's Momma yesterday, YES, she would love to get her hands on that watermelon and a pineapple to complete the fruit/veggie collection she puts out over the Thanksgiving Holidays. I was informed that they only made alittle over a hundred of these watermelons and pineapples and yes you can hear the I would love to add them to my collection in Hillary's Momma's voice. I read and caught up on the blog yesterday. I did laugh out loud over some of the topics and I agree that we need to devote our heart to collecting and learning about glass. The age of someone has nothing to do with how well you can do a job. For I use to be a work acholic, who started my first job that I got paid for at fifteen, I was a manager at 24 at a Pizza Shop where I knew how to do it all. YES! I di agree somethings are better thought then said. You know what they say about opinions. Well got to go, love the glass and those paper weights are real nice. I will have one of each. God Bless, say alittle prayer, Roxie

Last year we had the pleasure of meeting Glasslady's Mom
she appeared younger than a senior citizen. She was so friendly
invited us to stay over at her home, gave us a map, lead us to Osburn Glass.
One thing I recall her saying was she didn't collect Blenko only her daughter and hubby.

Blenko had no paperweights in view when I was there in Feb.
I ask and the shopkeeper suggested I call and speak with some one in the office on a weekday.
May I suggest educating the shopkeepers about the stock, the history, so forth.

Hilary's Mom does not collect glass she is a picker
she will stalk the glass
and then suggest you sell the glass for less than value to a good home - the home of her
daughter.
I saw the woman in action 2 years ago.
