Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

My # last year was high 100s
this year I won't be coming. Its too hot and you can purchase in the after market immediately for market up of less than $100.
Last year we witnessed someone selling a low number for $100 plus the exchange of vases.
The # doesn't matter to me, and it cost $670 for the trip and hotel. For us, its cheaper to buy after.

I am sorry, this is a old piece with a different finish top. I love Blenko and own allot of birthday pieces. This piece is ugly and the white stopper looks stupid. This is just my opinion. Have a nice day.

I should not speak for Glasslady
but my guess is Blenko failed to send her the photo.

Could anyone please tell me if Kissin Kates Antique store closed. :(
Their website is down and their number is disconnected!

I was hoping to visit their shop after visiting Blenko.

Last time I was in the shop they were talking about closing.
I have heard nothing official.

You guys should run to Osburns while your in Milton. See some of his new designs and solid colors. I was there today, He has Wayne Husteds new water bottles up there. They are in Ruby, Emerald, Cobalt, and Crystal. I'm getting one of each. He said later they are going to release more colors.

Hello from Kissin Kate's

We did close our shop in Hurricane at the end of April. We are now located in a large booth on the 2nd floor at the South Charleston Antique Mall on D Street. We thought the South Charleston location would be more convenient for our customers. We are still unpacking and will be setting up an e-mail address for the business and possibly a Facebook page. We'll let you know via the blog when this gets done.

Thanks for asking and we look forward to catching up with all our friends!

If you haven't been to the So Charleston Anitque Mall and the little shops in So Charleston make this a part of your next WV trip.
Last year I bought several thousand dollars of Blenko and Viking. Also the lady from Montgomery who is part of the ole Blenko 4 sells at this mall. Quality glass.

This vase is very lovely. I don't think it is a reproduction of an old Blenko design.
Roxie do you like this?
For me it is pleasing to the eye.

Hi!

To Kissin Kates: Thanks so much for getting back to me! Looks like we'll be making a stop at the Antique market!

I agree with the person who stated visiting Osburn glass! Last time we went to Blenko we stopped there. So many BEAUTIFUL pieces of glass! I bought two for my collection! Stop there and you won't be disappointed!

Love charcoal,- only wish I would be able to stand in line to get one this year!!!

Be sure to stop by The Old Timey Shop on Main Street in Milton. I have a booth there and several vendors have nice vintage Blenko.

Thanks for telling me about The Old Timely Shop Vintageshopgirl! I put it on my list.

Do any of you have any other suggestions of places to stop for vintage Blenko? :)

go to osburns and see if Lemley will sell his old Blenko.

I saw no mention of Blenko and the Vase on the WVU website. What gives? Last 3 years there was a one page story.
Did you drop the ball Glasslady?
