Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. Weekly, I return to your photos. For years my husband has tried to photograph our glass Photographing glass is difficult or impossible, yet you Hillary do it daily and make it look easy.

Dr. Bob, Hillary doesn't take these photos. Bruce Specht from Texas does it.

My significant other also expects me to take professional photos of her glass.
Good photos are difficult, perhaps we should ask Glasslady to do a post or have the photographer write about the art of photographing glass.
Having amazing glass helps. Bruce has some amazing glass.

The blog has several trolls who leave nasty messages when the glass is beautiful and the price was also beautiful
No inside joke. Keep returning and you will soon
get it.

Someday when you have time would you address finding glass?
How does one find glass like this?
We do all the local resale stores and ebay
rarely do we find good vintage.

I have been remarkably lucky in finding some good vintage Blenko in antique malls from Central to southern California. I found two of the triangular Husted fish decanters in my hometown of Palmdale, one in yellow, and one in charcoal (about an hour north of Los Angeles). Just keep looking, and educate yourself about the colors and the shapes. Happy hunting!

Readers:
My camera is now ten years old - I do not take photos of the glass.
We rely on volunteers and blog readers to provide photos.
Thank you for reading and for your contributions.

Does anyone have the #6152 in '61 charcoal? If so, would you like to sell it?
