Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

It is my beginning It is my end. TS Eliot

It is obvious that we can no more explain a passion to a person who has never experienced it than we can explain light to the blind. T. S. Eliot

Don't you get bored writing about Blenko glass every day, how do you find time for a life? I hear from an ex friend you can be very boring.

Note: The BLENKO in the photo is from http://www.hmoa.org/ HUNTINGTON MUSEUM OF ART where the BLENKO - West Virginia's Gift to the World is on Display until May4th.

laughed about the 'boring' remark
people who have many interest are never boring - except to those whose only interest is 'self'.
perhaps TS should examine self before calling you boring.
I for one would love to spend some 'boring' time with you. R U available?

Yelp you are so boring I would protest if you left the Herald.
Why do they bother to allow letters like that to get through to you?
Let me speak for the silent majority. You are beautiful, interesting, and you are responsible for our addiction to Blenko.

I am a physician, you must in the public acquire thick skin. The people who complain are also the people who do nothing good.
Do not be discourage.
If asked, I'll bet the Herald would say your Blog is one of the most well read. Everyone in my office now reads.
Keep writing and we will keep reading.
Boring is like beauty its perhaps in the eyes of the beholder.

Hello Hillary! You are not boring. Just a young college student who has different interest to go along with becoming a Dentist. Beside, we all have our passion,s it is what makes us interesting to other people. Besides when you are taught about something that started in the 1800's and it has lasted into 2008 I would call that history in the making some day you will teach others all you know about Blenko so that it can be passed into the next generation. Some of us care about the pass and the future.Hey are you not teaching those of us who read your blog about what fine glass there is in the state of West Virginia. I know I enjoy seeing blenko and reading about it. Maybe your smarts scare's some people. I would call you a woman of the world. THANKS

If you're boring, I'm the queen of Egypt! Besides being a full-time dental student, you find time to invest your thoughts about something you love: Blenko glass.
You have inspired no doubt thousands to become re-interested and/or interested in Blenko. Kudos to you is all I can say. Anyone who only has one interest is a boring person. I had a full time job, raised two sons and yet found time every day to volunteer for fourteen years: did it enrich my life? That would be a resounding yes!

Thanks everyone!
MS. Hill I had no idea you had a family and volunteer when you were a 2nd grade teacher you were at the school from before we arrived until dark - where ever do you find time for other things? oops wait - this what someone just ask me! You were always considered the Most Popular and Most Outstanding 2nd Grade Teacher At Robbins - while I never had the pleasure of being in your class I admire your style and energy.
Im delighted that your Mom had those Blenko treasures hidden away for you.
