Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

Dreams . . .

"Dreams are like stars . . you may never touch them, but if you follow them they will lead you to your destiny" author unknown

For many of my friends from High School the choice of Business and / or Business Management as their career path, was based on the dream of one day being a CEO. Perhaps it was the TV we watched : the CEO's flew in private jets, ate out a lot, and seemed to have a life of leisure. The one CEO I know - works very hard. . his personal motto seem to be - " what is not started today will not be finished tomorrow." Richard Blenko is always on the go and always promoting West Virginia, West Virginia Glass Industry and his own BLENKO GLASS

Being the CEO of BLENKO GLASS (Milton, WV) http://www.blenkoglass.co/. seems like a dream job. After seeing the schedule you may think NOT!
I'm going to share with his schedule for March, which he described as a 'slow' month.
Someone said ' To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream, not only plan but also believe.' Richard Blenko is an example of one individual working well with others to make a dream continue.

Hilary,
The ladies in my office and I have decided that much like Solomon we want to 'know' you.
If you are going to be speaking about Blenko anywhere in the Tri State mention this in the Blog.
We are very new to Blenko as a group but are enjoying the 'hunt'
we went to the Milton area again last week.
Unlike Solomon we won't invite you for anything other than coffee.
We have been reading for months - and would like to learn more about you as a person, where will you work, is there a real " Sol" in your life - or someone special. If not we have a couple young Docs here in our Clinic that are under 30 and single.

Sweetdoc,
Consider joining the Blenko Collectors Society (google this) you'll find many people who know much more than I about BLENKO and WV GLass.
It would be nice if we could get a West Virginia Blenko Club - the Texas Collectors have a gret group - that meets regularly. I know Tammy Kosla the President would love to have more active community groups. Your 'office group' could make a core group.
Email me at theblenkoproject@aol.com - I don't answer Emails quickly as if with school and my volunteer activities I stay busy. I will respond just not immediately.
RE: my personal life - - - I don't know where I'll work (hopefully in WV in 2009-10), Solomon is NOT a part of my life, 'no special anyones'- wait Ms B is very special, and I'll PASS fornow on the 'young docs' in your Clinic. Your thoughtfulness does not go unappreciated. I have no time.

We worked with Rick Blenko as part of WV Public Radio. He deserves all the compliments you are giving and more.
Good work young lady.

Hilly,
Is this a 'poor richard' he works too hard column?
All people who own business work extremely hard, may I invite you to spend a day or two following me around?
Its part of owning a Family Business. You are so 'young'.
Cute, but naive!

Hi Hillary,
I thought I dont have time but now I can not complain about it anymore and I find this article and quotes very inspiring

just thinking may be you can publish a book every year having compilation of blog articles of all the months for that year or compilation of just one of the best article of each month in that book smiling :)

you truly have a heart of glass so pure and beautiful

Ram,
I think I'll nominate you to be the new board member in charge
of book publishing - laugh... I doubt that there would be a market,
but I'll bet you are a good salesperson, I know you are very positive and always have creative ideas.
Thank you for always commenting and for being so positive.
