When Giants Fall - Micheal Panzner

Ms B and I spent the weekend reading 'When Giants Fall'. My friend sent the following words along with the book: "This book demands broad audience appeal. It is extremely well written and superbly documented. The subject matter covered includes economic, socio-economic, geopolitical considerations, international relations, national and international security, demographics, energy, natural resources and — how a new reality is upon all of us; a reality whose form and substance have yet to be fully formed." Hills, above review caught my attention, thought this would be of interest to you.
If you haven't read this book, may I suggest you find a copy this week. Mr. Panzner speaks about the next five years, what we might expect. Other than suggesting you invest 'all' your money in precious metal, he offered no other hiding places or tips for growing wealthy.
This book was a gift from a blogger friend who knows of my passion for BUY MADE IN THE USA! Panzner speaks about the China factor - how much of our country China owns in the form of treasury bonds and real estate, He talks about 'Walmart' and the Chinese made products. This book will leave you wanting to plant a victory garden, as West Virginia's we are accustom to 'hard times' and we are survivors. We may not be glamorous but we are self sufficient.
Panzner suggest when we say: "Buy Made In the USA" we are making non Americans very angry!
OOPS this is something I say a dozen times a week. Without thought of offending my non American friends.
Panzner is a veteran stockbroker, a very knowledgeable man, he suggest the stock market, financial investing and business will all suffer greatly in the next 5 to 10 years. These turbulent times he suggest will greatly increase. The book is fascinating and in my opinion a combination of truth with a bit of doom and gloom.
Read the book. www.amazon.com/When-Giants-Fall-Economic-America . Then get on line and order BLENKO GLASS www.blenkoglass.com always made in the USA, made in WVa.

Saw where Morgantown was listed as the place to be!
Article said much of what you said here
The Wall Stree Journal
Why College Towns Are Look Smart
Morgantown, W.Va has 3.9% unemployment rate and housing prices are on the rise.
Human capital has been the best long run predictor of urban success in the last century the author said.
Read the post.

READ THIS IF WE TOOK THIS MESSAGE TO HEART THINGS WOULD CHANGE.
MOUNTAIN RITA
'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians. '

'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'

'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!'

'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'

'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'

'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'

'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'

Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves, WE will find the courage to start speaking and voicing the same truths.

If you agree please SEND THIS ON and ON to as many people as you know

Is there anything not made in west virginia or the us that you consider to be quality made?
Do you not drive a Volkswagen?
Do your parents not drive a Benz?
I bet your shoes are Italian?
Your purse is probably Italian leather also.
Stop the protest and get honest.

Ted, My goal is to buy quality made items. To buy items that withstand the test of time. Re: Car/shoes/purse
I am GUILTY as charged, however, I believe my VW was made partially in USA.
Benz no excuse - it was my Dad's pre retirement gift to himself.
I do often wear shoes made in other countrys and frequently carry purses made in Italy.
Two of my favorite clothing items are Shawls made in India. Indian silk, wool and cotton is known to be the worlds finest. I like quality.
Quality made items withstand the test of time. Items sold at Walmart do not.
The USA makes fine tableware. In WV we make excellent tableware.
To be Honest: We ask you to buy local when possible, and to buy quality. If WV produced cotton I'd ask you to buy 'cotton' made in WV.
www.blenkoglass.com BUY made in USA GLASS!

Buy local is very good, when possible. If not possible, buy the best quality you can afford. I drive a Toyota (non-hybrid) US made, great quality, drove the last 2 until they fell apart. My US car is a Corvair, thanks Ralph.
Very few leather items made in the US, along with very little clothing of quality. Sad but a fact of life. So, support good quality and skip the junk quality, no matter where it's from. If we all make an effort to be more mindful in our spending, everyone will benefit.
