You know I stopped collecting when they fired Rick Blenko.
Since then a good number of talented people have been 'let go' and not so gently.
Blenko website invites you to join their family - well - why would anyone want to? Look at how they treat long term employees.
My question is
how can a firm afford to have IPhone and personal computers for all office staff and not be paying on debt.
How can you expect to keep a business running?
A good manager and a good finacial officer 5 years ago could have saved this company. Rick Blenko was a good PR person and Blenko is a fine name. Makes me a bit sad to see it all go up in flames now, I would prefer having Mr. Bill not hurt by all incompetency of the current staff.
Thank you for allowing me to get this off my check. Now we will see if you are brave enough to publish.

Anonymous, Rick Blenko was replaced by people who are much better at their job than he. Don't presume to know what you are talking about with regard to him. Those in charge now are trying to clean up a huge mess left to them by him, and by the questionable 'gentleman' from Big Two Mile. By your statements, you obviously don't have a clue what you are talking about.

Anonymous, If you knew what you were talking about, you would not champion Richard Blenko, who was let go for very sound reasons, and replaced by people who have been trying to clean up his, and the unscrupulous Mr Maier's, mess for quite some time. Those in control now, have worked very hard to fix a very difficult problem. Tha fact that Mr. Maier is no gentleman, and just a bit sneaky, is very sad.

How can Blenko protects its assets?

Cameron, By your ramblings, you don't have a clue what you are talking about.

Ed Maier is a greedy, untruthful individual who would like to portray himself as a humanitarian willing to 'talk' and work things out. That couldn't be farther from the truth. He is a sneak who cares little for anything save his bottom line....his pocketbook. No one should ever have entered into a 'gentlemans' agreement with someone who doesn't know the meaning of the word. Good luck, Blenko.

This is a good blog. Keep up all the work. I too love blogging and expressing my opinions. Thanks

Opinionz,
you have no idea what you are talking about. I've worked there for years, and although Rick was not the best manager he did know enough to do what he did best which was PR and put other people in charge of things they knew how to do. Now we can't make good glass to work or get the colors right, we got an office staff that make our customers mad and have no idea how to run a factory. They got rid of the people who knew how to run the place. Until you walk through those doors everyday like me don't you dare tell me I don't know what I'm talking about, I'm living this.

How can everyone put down Mr. Maier they have owed him this money for years and not made 1 payment. He deserves his money to.
If they owed you would you want your money, that's an idea take up a collection pay off the bill for them. Hmmmm different when it's your money isn't it.

This is a difficult time for Blenko. What we can do as collectors to remain calm, purchase new Blenko Glass from the factory today and as often as possible ( shop ahead for Xmas), Blenko is strong, the workers are united, and everyone has confidence in the new 2011 line. If you haven't ordered from 2011 line take time today to order.
Blenko and Two Mile will resolve the issue or work out a payment plan. This is not a time for pain - or for throwing stones at anyone.
All the people involved are good people. This isn't a time for mud slinging.
We'll accept no more comments on this subject. When there is news or a development we'll make note of the activity and inform you.
Today plan to make a purchase of Blenko Glass.
Buy Made IN USA and buy local when possible.

Gas company seizes Blenko bank accounts
March 31, 2011 @ 10:30 PM

BRYAN CHAMBERS

The Herald-Dispatch

MILTON -- Bank accounts for Blenko Glass Co. were emptied last week and again Thursday by a gas company to which it owed more than $500,000.

However, officials with the hand-blown glass manufacturer say that its Milton-based factory has no immediate plans to shut down.

The action stems from a 2005 court case in which Blenko was sued by Big Two Mile Gas Co., its former gas supplier, over a disagreement about the payments due for gas used at Blenko's factory.

A Cabell Circuit Court judge ruled in favor of Big Two Mile in September 2005 and rendered a judgment against Blenko for more than $500,000. The two sides, however, could not reach an agreement on how to make payments on the money owed.

WOW!!!HILLARY,NOW YOU WILL CENSOR OUR COMMENTS :(

Oh Opinionz you are the misinformed.
The 'new group' has no glass experience, no selling experience and no experience in management.
Rick Blenko may not have been an administrator but he knew enough to hire talented people and when allowed he made decisions that would have grown Blenko.
Tell me how the current crew compares?
As a PhD I value education and experience I see neither in the replacement group.
While I agree Ed Maier has a right to be paid, I also agree there may have been a less painful or abusive way to get the $$.
Ignoring problems doesn't make them go away. Lesson most of us learned before we were 30 - - Oh wait the new staff is under 30.

and for being positive 24/7.

So when are you going to publish Katie Trippe Statement?

Opinionz said...

Anonymous, it is you who are misinformed. The prior managment, along with Mr. Maier, nearly destroyed Blenko. The current managment has, and is, working very hard to clean up a mess left by RB. Maier is just a money hungry man with no character.

Opinionz said...

Anonymous, if you are so unhappy, leave. Stop complaining and lying about Blenko's managment. If you really do work for Blenko, you are a sorry excuse for an employee.

Opinionz said...

If anonymous is truly an employee, he/she is bitter and jealous. The 'youth' you try to put down has worked very hard to fix what RB nearly destroyes, and knows very well how to manage.

Opinionz,

Now calm down no reason to start calling me names and saying I am a bad employee. I am just stating the facts about the matter and if you ask most of the current employees you will get the same answer. All I can tell you is with this new group you speak of I have not worked more than 4 or 5 weeks in 5 months and when I do work it is only 32hrs per week been on that for 2 years. With the old team I was getting 40hrs week, usually laid off few weeks in Jan. and Feb but then back to work when orders started rolling in.
Now don't get all mad and hate at me and the other employees that feel this way. Like I said I just want to work I still have kids to raise, I really don't care who is running the place as long as there is a place. I was just telling the facts thats what I thought this blog was for.
thanks
