Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

what does NEW pre designer mean?

Anonymous said...

Recently made (new) "copies" of pre-designer pieces.

Sorry for the confusion. In sending photos to the blog I had already sent several dozen photos over the past years that had already appeared on this blog site. I labeled new photos as "new" so that Vivek and Hillary would know that the photo attached was a new composition that might be used on the blog as well as the Blenko Project site without it being repetitive on the blog. These are not a reissue of a pre-designer design. Hopefully all these photos will eventually appear under their proper categories on the Blenko Project website soon. Most but not all of the Husted, Anderson, and Myers photos have been loaded already but their many left to be loaded under color charts and other designers. At last count I believe I had forwarded over a hundred and twenty to share with our fellow collectors.
Enjoy,
Bruce Specht

I also would like to add that it is really helpful to see your photos on the Project's website. For those readers who have not visited the site recently, Bruce's photos are being posted according to designer

Having these photos in proper order re: color and designer on the Blenko Project site would be a big step toward making the blenkoproject site totally the best available.
Loved the photo and the glass but also thought it was perhaps a remake.

Ps Dr V many of us appreciate the efforts you are making with blenkorpoject it was mess and now it is looking good. The addition of Bruce's 100 or so photos in color order will make it outstanding.
Excellent is the only word that comes to mind.
Thank you Dr V and Dr H ( a little bit to Dr H).

Get a new photo this year.
I've followed this blog since 2004 November
yes the initial post
and the same photo of girl with big red flower
remains.
I'm guess you are 7 or 8 years older?
Don't be a Dear Abby - change the photo sweetie.

competent? Can you define competent?

From what I know the blog is managed by volunteers
I bet they don't have competence tested prior to volunteering?

Did you take a test before leaving your very competent comment?

I just wrote to say Thank you to Dr V
I want also to comment on the last comment
which speaks to the competence of the blog administrators?
My belief is if you are not a part of the solution you are a part of the problem.
If you don't like the blog admin offer to help or take over, I bet HJH and DrV would gladly allow you access and welcome your help.

Hello,
I have no idea which color is which. I can make a temporary color page, and will add images to them as I see correct. If I make a mistake, please let me know, so I can correct them. Thanks, V
