Hi Hillary and All,
We have recently made the difficult decision to close "Kissin Kate's Antiques and Collectibles", our bricks and mortar store located on Main St., Hurricane, WV. I am sure that it will be of no surprise to anyone that this industry has been hard hit this past year, and coupled with increasing operating costs it is no longer sustainable.
However, we are currently in negotiations with the South Charleston Antique Mall and hope to offer there at least a sample of the WV Glass and Antiques that we have had available in our Hurricane store.
We are going to attempt to keep the Hurricane store open at least on Friday and Saturday through out May, and perhaps a day or two during the week. If anyone would like to get in the store after hours we would be glad to open for you by appointment. The best way to access us during the remainder of this month is through our website: http://www.kissinkatesantiques.com/.
At this time we still have hundreds of first quality, vintage and one of a kind glass by Blenko, Osburn, Hamon, Fenton and many of the 20th century glass makers. Tim and I will be taking home some of our favorites, so let us know if there is a special piece that you have had your eye on!
We would like to thank our friends and clients for their patronage, and hope that you will look for us in the South Charleston Antique Mall mid June.
Sincerely;
Tim and Linda King

Sad News
I found this shop after reading the blog posts.
Life as we know it is changing and we remain unaware of the changes.
Wake up.
Mom and Pop businesses are quickly being eliminated.

I also want to see your blenko graduation gift.
My new questions are why don't my comments show and why when they show is the time for the am? I always read and write after leaving the hospital 7pm
Strange.
Next question will blenko be able to stay open? One of my patients is a Fenton club officer and she reports Fenton is asking collectors to increase purchases to show support and that production is down due to economy.
Does not sound good.
Obama where are you? So many Mid western locally owned business closing. 3 resturants within walking distance of my clinic have closed since 1/1.
Also is the WV Day deal on or off? I've heard it both ways.
And is the BCS meeting or the Festival of Glass? and when? I'm within 100 miles but many of my friends come from 2 -10 hours away and need to plan.
Information is key. Could you let blenko know this, or make them understand the need for communication?
How sad to see kissin kate go by the wayside. I remember when they "worked the line" while we were waiting for our birthday piece last year. I remember really wanting to stop by for a visit.
Hard to see how brick and mortar businesses stay open anywhere these days! Good luck to this hard-working WV family. Please hold a sale on WV birthday piece day-- if Blenko has one this year. Has anyone heard?

On the 10 invitations (to my 5/16 graudation) I wrote a note asking for no gifts, as I have too much of everything.
Moving made me aware of my over abundance of 'stuff'. I need nothing, and having more things means more responsibility. I desire neither.
So no photos of gifts will be forthcoming.
All prayers for my success career and time at OSU are always welcome, and your best wishes for Blenko and Blenko Project are needed and welcome.
Kissin Kate will update us on her limited schedule - I'll post it here.
