I like the pitcher, very nice piece that reflects the colors around it through the glass. nicely made. It is a nice rainbow effect, light and surrounding colors. I might get to go to ripley next year. The grandbaby loved her pink Blenko bunny and so did Mommie and Daddy. Hope to get a picture of that child and her bunny in September when baby sister makes her entrance into the world. Sol,you miss seeing and introducing your self to Hillary all the time. It amazes me. A thin layer of precious metal coats the surface of crystal and produces a a new Blenko color, Pearl. This fine patina posessess an elegant shimmer reminiscent of soap bubbles, opal, and mother of pearl. (bayliss team).

Hillary:
The 1208RB Bella Bocca Pitcher 10 1/2" tall that you show at the beginning of this message is the same pitcher that I sent a photo of on West Virginia day. This is the piece that Arlin Bayliss is twisting in the photo to show the rainbow effect that it casts on the wall (when the sun is shining on the surface). When I spoke to Arlin on 6/20/08, he was very pleased that, unlike some of the old metallic finishes, this pearl finish is not harmful to the people who apply it. Also, he says that he is not going to go carnival glass crazy and apply it to everything. As it stands now, he says that he will only use the finish in white. He doesn't want to get carried away with the carnival glass look!
I hope this piece and finish are well received. I would describe it as shabby chic meets Tim Burton! Useful, fun, elegant with a touch of twisted exaggeration. A little retro with a new flair. The more I see Bayliss' work and talk to him, the more I appreciate what he is doing.
