Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

Pittsburgh Vintage Car Grand Prix

There's no present. There's only the immediate future and the recent past. George Carlin

I'm off to Pittsburgh to see Vintage Cars this weekend. Did you ever notice how 'somethings' improve with age. If there is quality in the product and good maintenance. I think perhaps this is true of CARS, PEOPLE and BLENKO!

Check out: BLENKO COLLECTORS SOCIETY website and BLENKO MUSEUM for vintage Blenko photos

and then either go shopping for old Blenko or BUY NEW and AGE YOUR OWN!

Now that you've mentioned the BLENKO COLLECTOR'S SOCIETY, again, will there is will there not be a convention and a society collector's piece in August? Who is manning the helm now that Tammy is not? I want to join but must be sure that the organization will have an "immediate future" and not just a "recent past."

Thank you for thinking of me regarding the Cedar Lakes Arts and Crafts Festival. It was on my list. However, I was busy taking care of convalescing WV relatives and the thought of driving over to Ripley to fight the mud I had been fighting all week was just too much.

I have managed to travel over 1,500 miles in WV this summer. From Lewisburg to Greenbrier, Beckley, Charleston, Milton, Huntington. Next, from Princeton to Fayetteville, Buchannon, Fairmont, Morgantown, Blacksville, Bruceton Mills, Osage, and beyond. I will have to write about it.

Fabulous adventures; met many great people; bought a lot of glass, vintage jewelry, buttons, and postcards. More WV trekking planned for early August. The Pie and Pints and the Cathedral Cafe are two spectacular places to eat and meet in downtown Fayetteville! FYI, Blenko glass is sold on the main street in Fayetteville. Prices aren't the steals and deals you get at the Visitor's Center, but great to see those water bottles glistening in the sun outside of Milton!

Enjoy the car show and let us know if you saw the Blenkos!
