Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

Dear All:

I spent the last two weeks in Morgantown, West Virginia. On Monday, before leaving town, I stopped by the dental school to meet Hillary. The receptionist said that the students weren't due back in town for a week. Another employee, overhearing the conversation, replied, I saw her around earlier today. She should still be here. Sure enough, while other dental students were still enjoying their break, Hillary was back at the dental school in the throes of complicated dental procedures. All that after attending the mud-fest craft fair in Ripley.

Kudos to you Miss Hillary!

By the way, I saw a prisoner in a state-road-orange jumpsuit and chained hands and legs with a two police escort leaving the dental school. Did you have the pleasure of caring for him?

Sorry Margie, my messages aren't related to Husted Blenko but I like to post on the latest thread.

Hillary, I made a special trip to Blaney House, home of the WVU president and your birthday pieces. No apparent way to enter the place. From the back entrance, I saw some lovely paintings. No Blenko. Where is it and what are the hours? On a related note, I first stopped at WVU's Erickson Alumni Center to inquire about the pieces and the two receptionists had no idea what I was talking about. I encouraged them to read the last issue of the alumni magazine. They should have all details of how to see the Blenko Birthday Pieces if we are to realize your dream of promoting the glass by having it in a place where it can be seen by all.

Had I seen the pieces personally, I would have taken my three Morgantown glass-collecting friends to see the pieces. I'll be in town in early August and will try again then!
