Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

Your Photos!

Hi Hillary,

Just wanted to share a photo of a few water pitcher/ decanters that I've added to the collection over the past few months. I enjoyed the comments from your blog about the various water bottle collections that your readers have collected. I have however, always enjoyed the earlier versions below that Husted designed. From left to right #5612 in Lime, #5810 in Turquoise, and another simple design in Gold. Very functional and elegant with the additional impact only Blenko colors can bring to the set.

Enjoy,B.

Thank you B. and to everyone who shares photos - many readers are excited to view photos, they like me love viewing BLENKO. Please share your Blenko stories and photos. hjh I'm so jealous - these items are lovely, I seem to always be looking but never finding these beauties.

One of the best yellow's I liked was my winter jacket I had when I was in Grad school, bright yellow, very contrasting which was opp. or diff. to my fav. color (blue) and ofcourse the Nissan Xterra Yellow, Love it, dont care much of the corvette yellow though ;).

Lovely pieces of glass, I don't believe I've seen photos of them before.
Found something I don't believe you are aware of. In the July/August issue of 'OLD HOUSE INTERIORS", there is a photo in their "products" article of the new Blenko "Victoria" line, and the Blenko contact. In the back of the issue is an ad from Blenko, with color pictures and contact information. I get a lot (way too many) shelter magazines, and that is the first new Blenko advertising on a national level I have seen in many years. Those are very expensive to do, but not being visible leads people to believe you no longer exist. Letting the company know you saw their ad might help them do more?

The O Magazine had a short blurb
not one they paid for - but nice photos.
I may be looking with rose glasses but I'm seeing more about BLENKO in print also.
We need to do our part, by letting Blenko know and also telling everyone we know....I'm certain my friends are very tired of hearing me say BUY BLENKO
but sometimes it works, and when they visit and buy they always RETURN.
Cargirl you are such an awesome advocate if we had one good advocate in every state as a beginning.....
volunteers?

Phani we must get you a Blenko color chart so you sound like a glass collector - instead of a man in love with nice cars.

I like cars and the good engineering but I like art better and glass art is the best!
