Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

Is Freedom from Conditioning Really Possible?

In a talk, drawing upon Krishnamurti's teachings, Dr. Hillary Rodrigues inquires into the nature of conditioning. Krishnamurti often points to how pervasive conditioning can be, and yet points to the possibility of a radical transformation of consciousness that offers freedom from conditioning. But is such complete freedom from conditioning truly possible? If so, how? And what would be the nature of an unconditioned mind? Has anyone attained it? But if freedom is not possible, what does this imply about the quest for freedom and tea and snacks. Lunch is extra - $15. We can accommodate 50 people for the event, first come, first served. You must make a reservation for lunch, and pay at the sign up page. Or you can call Troy at 805-646-2726, x30. Please call or click on the sign up - payment link, even if you don't want lunch, to tell us your intention to come.
You are conditioned to complain and see only the negative - allow yourself to enjoy your life, your Blenko Collection, your family and break loose of the fear that holds you in places and situations you no longer desire.
Collecting Blenko much like collecting wine caps can be a method of relaxing and a mode of learning new things. Seek only positive outcomes.

Good Day to all. Hope all your Blenko is freshly washed and clean so that it will shine when you apply electric for we have lost the sun for today. I pray that might the Blenko need a washing that you have the energy or the money to pay someone to make your Blenko so,I am praying for the sun to shine tomorrow so that while pulling weeds and doing yard work I can wipe off the Blenko that has been made dirty Blenko by the dust and the rain.I pray that Blenko doesn't raise it prices since some of them told how you get your Blenko deals.Really who else am I to ask for the money to afford Blenko should it not be Our Lord, Our Father God. I also so pray for the Glassblowers who make the glass that they must love doing for the gift is one that is given, to design, to make to be an artist, I feel The Blenko Glass came from the belief that it is even Blenko to Collect and make it so.Then I pray for Mt.Rita for maybe Blenko will offer her a class for a MONTH to only find a real escape in making Blenko/ or any form of glass. I pray also that all get to at least see that dream piece of Blenko while saving/looking for it. I can close my eyes and see that 1950's something pear. I pray that some come to realize that some of the very first people besides the Indians were the bloodlines of what not only made WVa., help to make the rest of America. Sorry we had generations of the Holy Bible, guess someone needs to check to see if we were born with The reason why we even get to love collecting Blenko, for we are to have No idols. Well I am about out of words for Blenko today. I am still waiting to get to look at the WVa.Birthday piece, while football season is just around the corner.God Bless All Roxie

Hillary do you read the Glasshouse blog? Its the one by Damon
who also havs the imaginary Blenko Museum. He also offers to
evaluate and document your glass
or buy it for very low cost and then sell on ebay.
Check out his very negative comments.
I have written many comments about Damon that were not published here.
You should ready the comments.

Alice.
I have not read the comments - I have received a number of emails stating there were negative comments.
I don't belong to the Glasshouse newsletter or blog -
Damon is a prolific writer and promoter - I place great value on his Bachelor degree in Fine Arts.
The Blenko Museum is a wonderful source of information for all glass collectors. It is a well know fact Damon sells glass, this is his profession.
He has wonderful examples of Blenko Glass and when I can afford to, I shall purchase glass from Damon.
Now, may I also recommend the WV Museum of American Glass as a reference source. They have the best collection of American Glass and books about WV Glass.
The Blenko Four - also has an excellent Blenko website. If you live in Charleston or near by Steve Bair is our local Blenko expert - Purple Moon is our local source of great vintage Blenko - email and I'll provide you with the numbers
We all( Damon, Blenko Museum, Blenko Four etc.) have the same goal - Blenko Glass www.blenkoglass.com - I don't have the time, the energy or the desire to be involved
with name calling or negative energy. I don't sell glass. No one in my family sells glass. I have no interest in making money from Blenko. I have a profession, one that I enjoy
it provides for a good living.

Well . . . well...Dr Glasslady, you have very thick skin, a pure heart.
A gentle disposition. Like all Southern women you are iron on the inside.
Why anyone would say a critical word or mean statement about you is beyond me. Jealousy perhaps,
envy, selling glass or used cars or homes in this economy can't be an easy task.
Please continue to do what you do. Provide a positive forum for people to learn about Blenko, and other glass venues. Continue to publish the photos from Bruce, they daily prove proof Blenko can be found at a reasonable price without a NYC connection.
More photos of new Blenko items would be a welcome additon.
Thank you.

The BD piece was quiet nice.
Bayliss and Team )were also the focus of VMGlass blog.
It seems he is critical of change.
We have enjoyed the Bayliss Designs.
I also like that you glassdoc try to keep the negatives to a minimum.
